Supporting Emerging Filmmakers:
Introducing the Deutsche Bank Frieze Los Angeles Film Award

The award gives a platform, and a mentored development programme, to emerging Los Angeles-based filmmakers aged between 18 and 34.

The Deutsche Bank Frieze Los Angeles Film Award returns in 2025 for its sixth edition in partnership with film and TV production company FIFTH SEASON and LA non-profit Ghetto Film School. A panel of leading figures in the arts and entertainment industry select the recipient of the Jury Award, while the public can vote in the Audience Award. This year’s jury consists of Claudio de Sanctis of Deutsche Bank; Christine Messineo, Director of Americas at Frieze; Tayanna Todd of Lionsgate’s Motion Picture Group; filmmaker and artist Rhys Ernst; Erin Christovale of the Hammer Museum; and Oscar-nominated writer director RaMell Ross.

The winning filmmakers are announced during Frieze Los Angeles 2025.
